Arlington Municipal Airport (KGKY)

• The Strip: KGKY features one main runway (16/34), which is 1,829 meters (6,000 feet) long, making it perfect for high-performance GA aircraft, corporate turboprops, and smaller business jets.

• The Challenge: The Class B Squeeze: The primary challenge here is airspace awareness. KGKY sits directly under the multi-tiered DFW Class B Airspace and is wedged between two highly active airports (KDAL and KDFW). Sim pilots must be hyper-vigilant, maintaining strict adherence to complex, low-altitude VFR and IFR clearances to avoid infringing on the commercial jet traffic flow.
