ADVENTURE BUILDER V2.1 — COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENTS NOW LIVE
🎲 Adventure Builder v2.1 Is Live — Smarter Choices, Better Speeds & a Proper Surprise Me
Adventure Builder v2.1 is now live with a focused set of improvements built directly
from community testing and feedback. The aim was not to redesign the Builder again, but to make the
choices before a flight more useful, more flexible and much more predictable.
Aircraft selection now has proper aircraft-specific speed ranges. Aeroplanes can reach
fast-aircraft and airliner-style cruise speeds, helicopters now include faster options, gliders are no
longer limited to the slower end of the scale, lighter-than-air has its own range, and Other
now stretches from slow specialist aircraft all the way to a gloriously ridiculous 600 kt.
Each aircraft type also includes an Any suitable speed choice so the Builder can decide.
Point-to-point is now the default route style, with the Arrival airport remaining available
unless you deliberately choose Return to start. Advanced Settings have also moved below
Departure and Arrival so the form now flows naturally from the main choices, through airports and optional
settings, to the final Build controls.
The biggest change is Surprise Me. It now respects the choices you have already made and
randomises only the parts you leave open. Set Australia, Helicopter and 90 minutes, for example, and those
choices stay put while the Builder fills in the rest. A new Clear Preferences button gives
you the opposite option: clear everything first, then let Surprise Me create a genuinely open worldwide adventure.
Worldwide randomisation has also been reworked to reduce the old tendency to keep returning to dense areas
such as the UK, London or California. Testing has already produced successful Surprise Me adventures across
Australia, Antarctica, Iceland and Japan, while the existing editable routes, Scenic Corridors,
0–3 intermediate landings, manual and bush waypoints, nearby map layers, save/share tools and EFB-ready
.PLN export all remain intact.
A massive and very well-deserved thank-you to @baracus250 for all the testing, screenshots,
practical suggestions and the steady stream of “just one more little idea…” messages that led directly to
this update. The expanded speeds, Point-to-point default, smarter Surprise Me behaviour, Clear Preferences
workflow and improved form layout all came from that feedback. Adventure Builder v2.1 is genuinely better
because of the time and thought he has put into helping test and improve it.
